The latest CS2 update, “Mission Possible,” has rolled out today and introduces weekly missions for players to grind for. The patch also added a host of community maps to different game modes, including Competitive.

Weekly missions
Weekly missions are now a thing in CS2 to mix up your grind. Each week, you’ll get a single challenge that shows up right in the main menu or play menu for easy access. Complete it to earn a chunk of XP, which helps with your overall rank progression and unlocking Armory items.
One example of a weekly mission is to win 15 rounds on the new Grail map in Competitive mode for a 900 XP reward. Other missions could have you play a certain number of rounds or rack up match wins on specific maps, especially the newly added community ones. Only one mission is given per week, so make sure to complete it before the reset.
New community maps
Valve has shaken up the map rotation by adding community-made maps Grail, Jura, and a revamped version of Agency. These maps are now available in Competitive, Casual, and Deathmatch modes.
Grail is the winner of Mapcore’s Big Adventures Mapping Contest, while Jura is another strong entry in the competition. Agency, which was originally a classic Hostage Rescue map, is making a return.
Two more community maps, Dogtown and Brewery, have been added to Wingman mode to keep the action interesting. Valve has also tweaked how maps are grouped.
Basalt, Edin, Palais, and Whistle have been removed from all modes to give way to the new additions.
Other updates
This CS2 patch also brings a few quality-of-life improvements. There’s a new “Main Menu Ambience Volume” setting, so you can finally tweak how loud (or quiet) the menu sounds are. On top of that, several audio glitches have been fixed. A couple of bugs were also squashed to make overall gameplay feel more stable.

- Removed snd_setmixer, snd_setmixlayer, snd_soundmixer_setmixlayer_amount, and snd_soundmixer_set_trigger_factor console commands.
Misc
- Fixed a bug where input bindings to scancode56 (US English key “/”) wouldn’t persist across app launches.
- Lobby invites from players marked with “Block All Communication” in Steam will now be ignored in-game.
